The mission of G. Gardner Shugart Middle School is to develop within each student the skills, attitudes, and academic achievement that will enable them to become successful and productive citizens.  Our focus is on high expectations for all students in a setting that supports positive social and emotional adjustments.  This is best accomplished in a learning environment that is safe and orderly, where there is a spirit of cooperation between the home and school, and where student progress is regularly monitored.
