Parents/Guardians:
Please review behavior
expectations with your children weekly. Warm
weather is still here and we want to maintain the
safety of our students and bus drivers.
Riding the
school bus is a privilege that can be revoked when
students decide to act inappropriately while riding the
bus to and from school (including bus stops designated
by the school system).
A student can loose
their ability to ride the bus from one day to as many
days as the administration feels may be needed in order
to correct the negative behavior being demonstrated
while riding the bus. Privileges can be revoked upon the first referral
depending on the severity/nature of the infraction.
In any case, it
would be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to
transport their child or children to and from school for
the duration of the bus suspension. During the bus
suspension, students are not allowed to ride any
school bus.
All
students:
When
necessary, we will announce concerns pertaining to
overall behaviors while children walk to and from
school, wait at their bus stops or ride a bus.
Children need to keep their hands, feet and belongings
to themselves. Children need to walk on the
sidewalks and not the street. Children need to
make sure they are not horse-playing or pushing others
from the sidewalk and into the street!
Once
something occurs on the bus or the bus stop, all students need to make
sure they report any bus concerns or issue to their
driver immediately so that issues can be addressed
accordingly.
Please focus on bus stop behaviors and
lining up along the sidewalk (or designated area) while waiting for your bus
to arrive. No pushing or playing!
As always, we realize
that not every child is involved in this type of
behavior. Please discuss safety expectations with
your child throughout the school year.
