The mission of the Scotchtown Hills PTA is to do all that we can for the children in the school.  We hope that by sponsoring a variety of events, our students will learn the importance and value of a good education and the self confidence that can be gained through a positive and cohesive partnership between home and school.

You can help us by joining the PTA and by bringing your children to our events.

We want all of the children to explore new horizons and learn all that they can, for our children will shape the future.

Be sure to read the 'Did You Know?' weekly newsletter to find out about the latest school news and the schedule of upcoming events.  A copy of the newsletter will be uploaded onto our school website each week (if you happen to miss that hard copy).

Donuts for Dads...

Book Fair: The PTA sponsors an annual Scholastic Book Fair. The profits from the Book Fair are used to purchase books for classroom libraries and the Media Center. 

Box Tops for Education: The PTA supports the school General Mills Box Tops collection effort, which in turn benefits the school technology program.

Did You Know?: The school weekly newsletter; a must read!  It is also available on our school website.

Drama Club: The PTA supports the school's burgeoning actors. A performance is usually scheduled in the spring.

Green Team: More than just weeding and planting pretty flowers, the Green Team's goal is to promote environmental education in all grade levels. For more information, see the GREEN Program webpage.  

Hospitality Committee: Provides food and a cheerful presence at some school events.

Legislative Awareness: The PTA monitors the proceedings of the School Board, the State Legislature, and U.S. Congress to learn of decisions that may impact our school.

Safety Committee: Major emphasis is on providing a safe environment for the morning drop-off time in the fire lane next to the school.

School Store: The school store is a convenience for students needing to buy school supplies. Open as often as twice a week, depending upon the availability of volunteers to run it.

Staff Appreciation: Along with National PTA, our school celebrates PTA Teacher Appreciation Week every May.

Uniform Committee: The uniform committee works with the administration and student government association to formulate policy regarding uniforms and to assist families who need help keeping their children properly attired at school.
