IP (In Process 80-89%) is given to students who are in the process of developing the skills and are making steady progress.
EM (Emerging 70-79%) is given to students who are beginning to acquire the skills
ND (Needs Development 50-69%)
TL (To Be Taught Later) is given when content has not been taught during that particular grading period or at the time the grading window occurs.

For Grades 2 – 5:
· A = Excellent (90-100%)
· B = Above average (80-89%)
· C = Average (70-79%)
· D = Below Average (60-69)
· E = Inconsistent Progress (50-59%)
· I = Incomplete (If a child has not been in the class long enough for a formal evaluation. The teacher will provide a comment on the child’s progress)
For the first 3 quarters, parents must sign the envelope in which the report card arrives from school and then return it to school with the student as soon as possible. There is a signature line for all quarters on the front of the envelope.

ESOL Report Cards:
For All Grade Levels:
· A = Excellent (90-100)
· B = Above average (80-89)
· C = Average (70-79)
· D = Below Average (60-69)
· E = Inconsistent Progress (50-59)
· I = Incomplete (If a child has not been in the class long enough for a formal evaluation. The teacher will provide a comment on the child’s progress)
For All Grade Levels: Parents should also read the comments written by classroom and ESOL teachers (including attachments). The comments reflect the strengths and weakness of the student. The teachers may provide advice, when needed, on how to help the child improve.
