Science

The science department is dedicated to increasing the quality of instruction using two fundamental approaches.  The first approach is to provide inquiry learning that correlates with the Maryland State Content Core Learning Goals.  The second approach is to develop partnerships with parents and the community.  This partnership will enhance the science program to develop scientific literacy and the use of technology as it relates to science and all other careers.  Our goals are to empower students not only to become independent thinkers in the practices of science but also to achieve academic proficiency. Tutoring is provided for all areas of science during lunch, before and after-school.  The tutoring program is designed to help students go beyond academic proficiency.
