Lieutenant Colonel Darryl B. Umstead  is  the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at Surrattsville High School. Since 1999, Lt. Colonel Umstead has lead the unit valiantly. Throughout the years, Lt. Colonel Umstead has held a bevy of leadership positions. He holds a BS degree from North Carolina A&T State University.

CMSGT  Iona Black is an Aerospace Science Instructor at Surrattsville High School.  CMSGT Black is always giving encouraging advice to the cadets of MD - 942. CMSGT has been an instructor in the AFJROTC program at Surrattsville High School for nine years. In 1991, CMSGT Black retired from the Air Force after 30 years of noteworthy service. Her last assignment was with the 89th Mission Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base. In addition, CMSGT Black was also an instructor at ATC NCO Academy, in Lackland  AFB, Texas for four years. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.

CMSGT Cornell Langford is an Aerospace Science Instructor at Surrattsville High School. CMSGT Langford always takes time to instill valuable knowledge into the cadets of MD - 942. CMSGT Langford has been an Aerospace Science Instructor since February 1999. In addition, CMSGT Langford was the Social Actions Superintendent, at Andrews, AFB from November 1996 to March 1999. He has also taught Equal Opportunity and Human Relations for the past 25 years. CMSGT Langford has been in Social Action for over 26 years.

SMSGT Phyllis Dickerson is an Aerospace Science Instructor at Surrattsville High School. SMSGT Dickerson deeply cares about the welfare of the cadets; even beyond the classroom doors. SMSGT Dickerson has been teaching AFJROTC / HSP for ten years at Surrattsville High School. She retired on January 1994, from the 89th Transit Alert Superintendent position, in Andrews, AFB. Md. In addition, SMSGT Dickerson spent 20 years as an Aircraft Mechanic.
