| June 6, 2010. Megawalk Monday. Everybody wore red for a healthy heart, and on a day with perfect weather, we went walking! For a whole hour in the afternoon, everybody walked! | ||

| May 2010. Tie-Dyed shirts for everyone. Field Day is coming up and each class needs a t-shirt in their own colors. Parent volunteers visit each class (even the kindergartners!) to help tie dye a shirt. Won't we all look great on June 11? Mrs. Roth's third grade class is tie-dying their shirts. | ||

| May 28, 2010. Compassionate Students. Being chosen as "Compassionate Student" for your grade is a great honor, but getting an invitation to the Compassionate Student Party at the end of the year is just fun! | ||

|
The students learned about American "Pop" artist, Andy Warhol, who used common everyday images as subject matter for his art work. The students used a form of printmaking which involved the creation of a master plate (in this case, Styrofoam) on which they etched an image, applied ink, and pressed paper onto the plate with a brayer. |

![]() A poster of "Vase of Flowers" introduced our students to the translucent art of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Tiffany was an American artists and designer who was known for his work in stained glass, particularly lampshades. The students created their own mini-stained glass widows using clear vinyl, Sharpie markers, and tissue paper. |

| May 12, 2010. Annapolis Field Trip. Our fourth grade had a pirate adventure on their annual field trip to Annapolis. The day was dark and rainy, but still fun! | ||

| May 12, 2010. Reading and Art. Our fourth grade reading group is reading From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, which is set in a museum, and about a stolen statue. So Mrs. Hall and Ms. V thought it was time to teach our students about sculpture. | ||

Everyone was surprised to find Ms. V at the book club meeting, but then she brought out the modeling compound. |

| 2009-2010. Where in the World is Grover? Our school mascot, Grover the Tiger, traveled around the world. Anytime a student or staff member visited another place or got a letter, phone call, or email, a paper tiger went up on the World Map that dominated the hallway. | ||

| February 26 -- Authors' Tea. Our first grade students have been writing all year, and finally it was time for the authors' tea! Everybody dressed up to read to our parents and visitors, followed by cookies and punch in the cafeteria. | ||

| February 26 -- SNOW DAYS. Almost three feet of snow fell in February, giving us over two weeks of snow days, late openings, and early dismissals. | ||
