Meet our Parent Liaison, Mrs. Josephine Charlton My name is Josephine Charlton. I am the school-based parent liaison at Tulip Grove Elementary School. The purpose of this position is the "facilitate improved parent involvement, communication, and collaboration between school staff and families in order to enhance student achievement and development as a successful member of society." I am very fortunate to be assigned to Tulip Grove. You have made my job easy. I am amazed at the percentage of parent involvement and proud to be a part of the Tulip Grove team. We are currently working on building a parent resource center, right outside the front office, where you can pick up copies of flyers and other pertinent information about the school. Also, the school is planning on creating a parent work room, where parents will have access to the same tools teacher do -- laminator, die cut machine, etc. Please know that I am available to assist you or answer any question you may have Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at (301)-805-2680. Or you can e-mail me at josephine.charlton@pgcps.org. Please contact me...

Volunteer! Becoming a volunteer is a win win for all
Communication is essential. Be sure to check your child's backpack on a nightly basis. Look for our bi-monthly newsletters as well as flyers with important information for upcoming parent nights. Remember our website is an important communication tool. Email links are available on the website to contact your child's teacher.
Participation. Your attendance at PTA meetings, parents' nights, and family-fun nights are important. This keeps you "in-the-know."
Visit. At Tulip Grove we have an "open door policy". You are welcomed to visit your child's classroom any day. Just stop by the main office to obtain a visitor's pass. (Remember you are visiting. If you would like to meet with the teacher, please schedule an appointment.)
