PTA MEETINGS. Mark your calendar now to attend at least one PTA meeting this year. By coming to meetings, you can help decide how to raise and spend money for the school and hear the latest news on school activities. All meetings will be held in the Media Center, and they last no more than one hour.
September 4, 6:30 p.m.: Join us on Back-to-School Night, when we’ll introduce our new principal, vote on the PTA budget for the coming year, and discuss planned events and fundraisers. Sign up to help with something that interests you!
November 13, 7 p.m.: Listen as Mr. Baudoin provides an update on important activities at the school and discover how you can help make our holiday events a success.
January 8, 7 p.m.: Come hear how much money we’ve raised so far and help plan for the second half of the school year.
March 11, 7 p.m.: Help us develop a Nominations Committee to create a slate of candidates for the 2008-09 PTA Board.
May 6, 7 p.m.: Learn just how much money the PTA raised for the year, help decide how it should be spent, and then vote in the new PTA Board.
Social Events Bring your families to these fun events at the school, where you can connect with old friends and meet new ones.
September 20, 6:30 p.m.: Ice Cream Social -- Meet us in the cafeteria for a cool treat while you share summer vacation stories and make plans for the coming year.
October 26, 6:30 p.m.: Fall Festival -- Arrive in costume for great games, prizes, and safe trick-or-treating around the classrooms.
May: End-of-Year Picnic -- Help the students celebrate another successful year with a picnic and field games during school hours.
Fundraisers. Did you know the PTA raised almost $11,000 for Tulip Grove last year? Let’s try to top it this year! Here’s a rundown of our fundraisers. Plan now to participate in the ones that make the most sense for your family.
October: Claire’s Gourmet -- This is your chance to stock up on scrumptious cakes and goodies to share with family and friends over the holiday season. Talk to anyone who has ordered from Claire’s, and you’ll learn you won’t be disappointed! Orders will be delivered right before the Thanksgiving holiday.
December 3-7: Santa’s Secret Shop -- Back by popular demand, Santa’s Secret Shop allows students to shop on their own for holiday gifts for all the important people in their lives. The shop will be open during school hours December 3-7 and during the Pizza Party on December 7.
December 7, 6 p.m.: Pizza Party/Basket Silent Auction -- Treat the family to everyone’s favorite dinner (pizza!), then place your bids on an array of unique themed gift baskets donated by each classroom. From chocolate and coffee lovers to Barbie aficionados and sports fans, there’s a basket that’s perfect for everyone on your holiday shopping list.
February: Spell-a-Bration -- This terrific fundraiser helps students learn their spelling words, while they raise money for the school at the same time. Students collect pledges for each word they spell correctly. The money goes right back to Tulip Grove!
