SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

Science Dept Chairperson--Mary Irving

The Science Department is glad to get on board with the America's Choice Model that is used in Reading/Language Arts and Math at Thomas Johnson Middle School. This model compliments our "hands on" classroom methods and cooperative learning strategies. Students will be experiencing education through labs, group projects, individual activites, and student led activities. Both the 7th and 8th grade classes participate in the annual Science Fair, usually towards the end of October. Also, the 8th grade students will be taking the MSA in Science, and are being prepared to perform well on that assessment in April.
