The Scholars
Students
Science students on the Scholars team enjoy webquests. Click HERE to access a webquest about cells. Click HERE to go to a webquest about heredity. The Scholars' Language Arts program exposes students to poetry, research and a myriad of other enhancing, educational venues. Developing authentic tasks is a prerequisite that furthers higher order thinking skills. Students use the television studio, library media materials, and the Internet to create original, eye-catching projects. Walker Mill students have become wonderful writers. Whether it be creative writing, Write-A-Book, when it is implemented, or functional writing, our students master the skills and techniques endemic to success in life. Language Arts students read with and without teacher direction. It is not unusual to see students reading the stock page or look up their stock portfolio on the Internet. Math, Science and Social Studies programs are also noteworthy. They are staffed by an exciting and dedicated team of professionals having many, many years of experience. Every school year, students participate in a science fair. Teachers
