The mission of William Wirt Middle School is to provide an environment in which every student is helped to develop intellectually, personally, emotionally, and socially in the cognitive and affective education domains.
We believe that all students can gain knowledge and improve their skills regardless of their previous academic performance, family background, social economic status, race, gender or handicapping condition. We believe that an inviting learning environment is conducive to cultivating the potential of each student and to developing independent thinking skills and knowledge so that the student may continue and advance his or her own learning beyond the walls of the classroom.
We believe that equal access to a quality education is a fundamental right of each student. Therefore, the staff of William Wirt Middle School seeks to provide an education with which each student can develop self-direction and responsible citizenship skills which will be used throughout life.
