Has Your Child Earned Their 36 Hours??
Prince George's County students are required to perform 36 hours of student
service prior to graduation from high school. Students may start earning
hours in the 7th grade and are strongly encouraged to complete as many of the
volunteer hours as possible while in middle school. The Guidance
Department has a list of programs in which students may participate, or they may
"create" their own student service learning programs through their
church or various non-profit agencies. Student Service Learning
Verification Forms may be picked-up in the Guidance Office, and the completed
forms must be submitted to the Guidance Secretary. Students will have the
yellow copy returned to them for their records. An update of volunteer
hours will appear on your child's report card.
