    MS INTERVENTION AND ENRICHMENT SUMMER PROGRAM

    PGCPS is offering a summer program to ALL current 6th, 7th and 8th grade middle school programs.  The goal is to support student mastery of grade level standards and address any lagging gaps in skills. Students will be engaged in a fun, engaging and motivating virtual learning program via the Edgenuity Online program.


    Edgenuity's MyPath uses a combination of animations, simulations, video-led direct instruction, relevant websites, and a myriad of activities that support the lesson’s topic.  Students have a wealth of information at their fingertips that can be reviewed as many times as necessary to achieve mastery. Virtual tutors and office hours, along with online support from coaches will be available to support students throughout the program.

    Between April 27th and May 15th, 2020 our school will participate in the Gallup Student Poll.

    Gallup launched the Gallup Student Poll in 2009. Gallup provides analytics and advice to organizations around the world. 


    The Gallup Student Poll is a brief, 24-item survey available on the web for students in grades 5

    through 12. The Gallup Student Poll includes the following themes:

    • Engagement is the student’s involvement in and enthusiasm for school.

    • Hope is the ideas and energy students have for the future.

    • Entrepreneurial Aspiration is the talent and energy for building businesses that survive, thrive and employ others.

    • Career/Financial Literacy is the information, attitudes and behaviors that students need to practice for healthy participation in the economy.

    The Gallup Student Poll gives students a voice in building great schools, and results provide schools with important, actionable information beyond standard measures, such as grades and test scores, to help schools make kids ready for the future. To date, there have been over 5 million completes the Gallup Student Poll.

    This survey is anonymous and voluntary. That means Gallup cannot identify your student, and your student’s individual responses will not be shared with anyone. Only grade-level and school-level information will be shared with our school. Your student does not have to participate in this survey. There are no consequences or penalties if your student does not participate.     FYI:
    Chromebooks

    No further distribution will occur. Parents can do the following:

    • Watch the pre-recorded lessons on Infinity (channel 96) or Verizon (channel 38) for Elementary Students

    • Retrieve packets with 2 weeks of work at the identified meal distribution sites as noted on PGCPS for Secondary and Elementary Students

    • Utilize the drive up WiFi at the 33 identified sites (noted on PGCPS)

     

    Distance Learning Television Broadcast

    Students can tune into Comcast Channel 96 and Verizon Channel 38 for lessons.

     

    Determining Pass or Incomplete Grade

    An assignment scoring at 60% or greater will be deemed as passing. An assignment scoring at 59% or less will be deemed as incomplete. 

     

    Retention

    There will be no student retention for grades K-8 this year.
