To kick off the new school year with friendly competition, we challenged teachers and staff across the school system to show us their most innovative back-to-school bulletin boards!

From the dozens of entries, we selected a few that were especially amazing and treated the designers to classroom supplies and gift cards hand-delivered by CEO Dr. Monica Goldson.

This year's winners include:

‘CEO’s Choice’ award to Frances Fuchs Early Childhood Center music teacher Katie Luettgen for her interpretation of “Learn.Blossom.Grow” (the school's motto)! This handcrafted board was selected for the time it took to individually craft flowers that students with special needs can touch.

Also recognized with ‘CEO’s Choice:' Allenwood Elementary third grade teacher Ms. Johnson for her Words with Friends inspired welcome board! Incorporating the names of every student in her class,  Johnson's board makes scholars feel recognized, important and connected to their peers!

The ‘People’s Choice’ award winner is Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School professional school counselor Ms. Shaquasia Marcelle. Not only is the board beautiful — it has a strong message that students can carry with them every day.

Lastly, honorable mention in our #PGCPSBestBoards contest goes to Montpelier Elementary School for “Explore the World!” a creative and interactive 3D board that inspires children to seek adventure.
