    The AEAT Admission Process

Admission to the Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Technology (AEAT) Program is competitive; it represents the top students from Prince George’s County which includes public and non-public school students.  Each year, the AEAT Program accepts rising ninth and tenth grade students.  The AEAT Program looks at the following criteria for admission:

    • PSAT 8/9 Scores
    • The average of the grades from the 4 quarters of the previous year and the first quarter of the current year.  Only the grades in Math, English, Science and Social Studies are used.

Using the above criteria, each center will select students to fill the number of available seats. Students with the top scores are offered admission until all seats are filled. A waitlist of students is generated to fill any vacancies that may arise prior to the start of the first day of school.

Rising tenth grade students are admitted on a space available basis and must compete for a few openings per year. In all instances, grades in major subjects and scores on the standardized admissions test are the only criteria used to determine admission.
