Appointed by County Executive Alsobrooks to fulfill a 4-year term; term expires 2020.
Bryan Swann was born and raised in Landover Hills and Glenn Dale, Maryland. He attended Bladensburg Elementary and is a graduate of Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS). His mother, a career educator in the Prince George’s County school district, began as an elementary school teacher, later becoming a principal. Bryan spent all of his childhood and the majority of his adulthood in District 4, where he currently resides.
Mr. Swann has two sons enrolled in PGCPS and is active in the community, a U.S. Marine Corps Combat veteran, as well as a civilian public servant. Additionally, Bryan earned his Master of Public Administration and Master of Business Administration from Harvard University and the University of Maryland at College Park, respectively.
In January 2020, the County Executive appointed Mr. Swann with unanimous concurrence from the Prince George’s County Council.
Prior to serving on the Prince George’s County Board of Education, Bryan worked in the White House during the Obama Administration, U.S. Department of Defense and the private sector; he is currently a Deputy Director at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
