    Crossland Academic Summary    

    Crossland High School offers highly rigorous courses and a college going atmosphere. In 2011 we were recognized by the United States Department of Education (U.S.D.E.) in an electronic documentary known as “Doing What Works.” The USDE used Crossland as a model for the rest of the nation on what it takes to prepare students for college. 2011 was also the year in which over 70 educators from Delaware (including superintendents & principals) visited Crossland to see best practices in action as part of the Department of Education’s Race to the Top Program. Crossland has been featured in Forbes Magazine and the Harvard Business review for boosting academic scores and launching students to college and career success.   


    We offer classes ranging from Italian, Spanish and Chinese, to Advanced Placement Psychology, Chemistry, Literature and Calculus. Our International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is an internationally recognized pre-university program of studies that is offered to highly motivated 11th and 12th grade students.  The program provides academic rigor, structure and experiences for students expecting to be fully challenged. Our outstanding and unique Technical Academy offers courses ranging from Information Technology, Graphic Arts and Automotive Technology to Cosmetology and Barbering.


    Crossland has 4 computer labs that are used exclusively for instruction in Accounting & Finance, Graphic Arts Design, Information Technology and Computer Networking.  The media center has over 18,000 books, 13 educational databases, 4 mobile labs and 40 computers.  Our scholars use these media center resources, before, during and after school.
