Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) continues to set the standard for innovative school infrastructure with its Blueprint Schools Phase II project, recently honored with the Proximo Award for North America Social Infrastructure Deal of the Year 2024. This award recognizes excellence in project and infrastructure financing, underscoring the county’s leadership in delivering high-quality, modern learning environments through creative funding solutions.
Blueprint Schools Phase II marked a major milestone as the largest taxable municipal bond financing for a social infrastructure project. It builds on the County’s and Maryland’s strong track record in public-private partnerships (P3s), reinforcing our region’s reputation for pioneering sustainable and community-driven development. An innovative feature of this initiative was the opportunity for residents to invest directly in the project, ensuring that the benefits of this transformative effort extend beyond the classroom and into the broader community.
Proximo, a leading intelligence provider in the project, energy, and infrastructure finance sectors, connects financial and corporate communities to support impactful, forward-thinking investments. This award highlights how PGCPS is not only building schools but also shaping the future of education through smart, sustainable, and inclusive financing.
We celebrate this achievement and look forward to seeing how Blueprint Schools Phase II continues to benefit students, families, and communities across Prince George’s County!
