    1. Know Your Options, Chart Your Course

Your student’s education is a partnership between family, school and community.

PGCPS is full of amazing resources, innovative programs and dedicated teachers and staff. Knowing about all that our school system has to offer and charting a personalized course is the key to success!

At this year’s conference, become a ‘PGCPS Insider’ with workshops that will give you a front row look into the world of opportunity offered in PGCPS--and how to best access resources to maximize your student’s education.

    2. 21st Century Learning: We Break it Down

    Why is STEM education important?

How do I keep up with my child’s middle school math?

What is high school Career and Technical Education (CTE), what does PGCPS offer and how can it help my child in college and career?

Join us for workshops that answer these questions, and much more.

We’ll also explore other hot topics including: technology-based learning methods, free online resources to help build math and reading skills, social media and cyber safety and navigating college admissions.

    3. Transportation, Free Childcare and Snacks: No Excuses!

We understand: traveling and childcare can sometimes be tough to cover.

    So, we’ve got you covered!

In addition to shuttles from off-site parking sites we’re providing free transportation from satellite sites in Oxon Hill (Glassmanor Elementary), Langley Park (Langley Park McCormick Elementary) and Landover (Dodge Park Elementary) beginning at 7:00 a.m.

    4. Be Inspired!

Known for his passion, high energy and innovative approach to education, Ron Clark, bestselling author, motivational speaker and founder of The Ron Clark Academy will headline this year’s conference offering a message sure to motivate!

    5. Workshops for Students, Too

Our conference would not be complete without opportunities for students to engage and grow. On the agenda for students: STEM stations, smart social media, building web apps, leadership and more. Secondary students can also earn service hours for attending and/or volunteering at this year’s conference.
