    ESSA and Title I

    The goal of the Title I office is to ensure all schools are implementing a Title I program in accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) regulatory guidance for addressing the needs of all students to meet state and county academic standards and to increase the partnership between home, school, and community.  Actions taken to ensure individualized support is provided to the schools include: 

    • Direct technical support for designing Title I program based on a comprehensive needs assessment; 
    • Identification of instructional and human resources to support the core learning in the classroom;
    • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the Title I plan for improving students’ academic achievement and eliminating the achievement gap;
    • Support activities to increase parent, family and community engagement in order to bridge the gap between home, school, and community and;
    • To provide sound fiscal management, strengthen fiscal processes and guidance for better decision-making, and more efficient operations maximizing grant resources to support, supplement, and sustain Title I schools for meeting ESSA requirements.
