General School Information

School Hours

Our school hours are from 8:15 AM – 2:25 PM. Students will enter the building at 7:45 AM and receive breakfast. Students not eating breakfast must be in their seats for instruction by 8:15 AM sharp. Students arriving after 8:15 AM will be considered tardy. Students should be in school on time each day in order to achieve and maintain academic success.

Mandatory Uniform Policy

All students in grades Pre-K-6 must wear the appropriate school uniform beginning the first day of school. Students are not permitted to wear shoes/sneakers with colored stitches, stripes and/or designs and logos. Solid white, black, and/or navy blue socks are allowed. No stretch or cargo pants are allowed. The uniform policy will be strictly enforced! 

Parents Visiting the Building

Visitors are required to make an appointment with the school prior to arrival. All visitors are mandated that masks and social distancing are requirements for entry. Visitors who have made an appointment and must meet in-person must complete a questionnaire upon arrival. The questionnaire will be kept on file. There will be a limit on the number of visitors entering the school each day.

Visitors with appointments MUST have a valid, government-issued photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, state issued non-drivers identification, U.S. Government work ID with photo, etc.), which will be scanned into our visitor’s screening database.

Student Supplies

All parents are urged to purchase school supplies prior to the first day of school.

Immunization Records and Health Inventories

No student will be admitted to a Prince George’s County Public School without the proper immunizations. Please see Mrs. Jackson, School Nurse for NEW immunization requirements. Health inventories are required for all new Prince George’s County students, and should be completed by the first day of school.

Medication

If your child requires the consumption of medication during the school day (prescription or non- prescription), a Medication Authorization Form must be obtained from the school nurse, completed by a physician and returned to the nurse before any medication can be administered.

Family Emergency Cards/Forms

During the first week of school, your child will receive a family emergency form. The form must be completed accurately. Please return the completed form to your child’s teacher by the end of the first week of school. Your promptness in completing and returning the form to school is requested. Please provide all phone numbers, including cell phone. Update this information throughout the school year (as needed).

Transportation

Bus transportation information for the 2022 – 2023 school year will be forthcoming. Bus transportation postcards with students’ bus information for this school year will be mailed out to parents.  They will be sent to the latest address parents have provided for the school registrar in School Max.

Breakfast and Lunch

All students will receive FREE breakfast and lunch daily,however all parents will need to complete a lunch application for their child.  Parents, if you choose to provide your child with lunch, it is important that you plan healthy, balanced meals. Breakfast and lunch menus are distributed monthly and may change without notice.

Breakfast will be served between 7:45 - 8:15 AM daily. Students walking and arriving by car after 8:15 AM will not be served breakfast.
