CSEP

Comprehensive Special Education Program (CSEP)

Oxon Hill has approximately 464 students. Of those students, approximately 110 of these students are Comprehensive Special Education Program (CSEP) students. We have fourteen special education teachers, many paraprofessionals, two full-time speech pathologists, and one full-time motor development specialist. Itinerant services such as occupational therapy and physical therapy, vision and mobility, hearing and audiologist are available based on the students' I.E.P. Traditionally; a CSEP program is a self-contained classroom setting with 10-12 students and two adults. However, in an attempt to provide the least restrictive environment for all students, Oxon Hill is also an inclusive setting. Special needs students are integrated with their age mates, when possible and appropriate, throughout the course of the day.
