About

Greetings Gwynn Park Families and Students!

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Gwynn Park High School! As a product of Prince George’s County Public Schools, I am overjoyed at the opportunity to lead such a talented and ambitious group of young people as they continue to exhibit the character and academic excellence that makes us all #PGCPSProud!

I am a Prince George’s native and a graduate of Suitland High School. The educational foundation I earned as a product of PGCPS prepared me for Vanderbilt University, a top 20 university in the nation, and then my master's in education at Howard University. I am committed to maintaining and improving on this culture of excellence #PGCPSProud as your Principal.

As an educator, I have spent the last 17 years on a mission to protect students’ access to rigorous opportunities to grow into progressive citizens with integrity, vision, and purpose. I believe in nurturing the whole person and creating a positive and productive environment that is for the success of all children through the empowerment of our teachers and staff. This year at Gwynn Park High School, we will continue our instructional focus on increasing our math proficiency, and begin to develop a focus on our social-emotional health through school-wide and classroom initiatives on mental health.

With this in mind, I have great expectations of our students! Safety is my highest priority! This means wearing your uniform, khaki bottoms and black or white polo, and ID at all times with pride! Speaking up when something is not right and respecting your fellow “Yellow Jackets” by making good decisions with your actions and your words.
