Principal's Corner

Dear Gwynn Park Middle School Community,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the newly appointed Principal of Gwynn Park Middle School and to join this extraordinary school community. I hope that this letter finds you enjoying the rejuvenating days of Summer and that you and your children are looking forward to beginning a wonderful school year together when we return in August. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s commitment to caring for your children each and every day while providing a learning environment that empowers a foundation of life-long learning.

The 2023-2024 school year will mark my 21st year in education. The various leadership positions held in Prince George's County Public Schools provided me with the skills needed to be recognized as a highly trained instructional leader while also remaining connected to students learning in the classroom. I firmly believe that every student can excel and that the partnership between home and school is absolutely necessary to shape their future and the future of our community.

My conversations with district staff, some teachers/staff members at GPMS and a few families has provided insights into the core beliefs, values and needs of the community. I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. I will be meeting with parents, students, and the staff throughout the year to identify specific goals in the areas of student achievement, school climate, and parent communication.

I believe there are great things in store for our scholars and our community, and I promise to be the leader that helps guide Gwynn Park Middle School on its continued journey of success. Please stay tuned for details regarding the Community Meet & Greet July 18th. To accommodate parents/guardians there will be an in-person session and a virtual session.

In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversation, input, and partnership. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2023-2024 school year and beyond. Remember, “Together We Make a Difference”.

Sincerely,

Terrill Hall
Principal
