It is with distinct pride and pleasure that I welcome you to the Principal's page of Melwood Elementary School home of the Mighty Hawks. 

My name is Summer Carter and I am humbled and extremely honored to serve as your Principal. Each year we welcome opportunity to develop a partnership with ALL of our Mighty Hawk Scholars along with their parents and guardians. We promise to deliver exemplar instruction so that each and every Scholar has the opportunity to "Reach Their Goals of Academic Excellence". 

Melwood ES prides itself on its partnership with all its stakeholders and we do not take lightly the responsibility you entrust upon us each and everyday with educating your child. As the Instructional leader of MES I also pride us on our transparency in relation to our instructional practices. I encourage you to contact your child's practitioner and forge a partnership with them. Furthermore, I encourage you to contact me or my instructional lead team if you have a question, comment and/or concern.
