Ms. Amanda's Updates: October 2023

Happy Fall Everyone! Fall is a time for everyone to enjoy schoolwide events and develop new relationships. Please remember to review the Important Date Section of the newsletter in order to be aware of schoolwide event days and school closures.

The First Quarter of school is well underway, and we have Parent/Teacher Conference Day coming up on October 9, 2023. Parent/Teacher Conference Day is an opportunity to learn about your students' progress and see your student's classroom environment. All classroom instruction is focused on Unit 1 Connecting with School and Friends. Please view SeeSaw to review your student's electronic portfolio, which will show active learning and student work samples. Using Seesaw will give you the opportunity to view your student's learning growth and give you a home/school connection.

As we move through the First Quarter please be mindful that all school visitors are required to get a badge from the main office. This is to ensure you have been checked in with our Raptor Security System. Administration is asking that parents/caregivers wear your badges when dropping off and picking-up your student from school.

We continue to address multiple bus transportation concerns, which have been ongoing since the start of school. If you have an address change for either residence or bus transportation the address must be changed with the main office at Chapel Forge ECC before transportation can route a bus for any student enrolled in Chapel Forge ECC. PGCPS transportation can be contacted at 301-952-6520 with specific transportation concerns regarding pick-up and drop-off.

STUDENT BUS TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Please make sure your child is waiting for the bus at least 15 minutes before their scheduled pick-up time as well as 15 minutes after the scheduled pick up time. The bus may arrive any time during that window. Please be patient during the first few weeks of being assigned a bus as drivers, parents and students adjust to a new routine.
