The National African American Read-In effort encourages communities to read together, to spotlight African American books and authors, and to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month.  Cherokee Lane Elementary School hosted its annual Read-In, with teachers and community partners sharing books with students featuring African American authors and illustrators.
