October is National Principals Month, an opportunity to celebrate the leaders who guide our schools every day.
Here are five ways to show your appreciation:
1. Share the Love Online
Love your school? Tell the world! Leave a positive review on GreatSchools.org or Niche.com. Your feedback helps others see what makes your school great — and lets your principal know their leadership is making a difference.
2. Get Involved
Join your school’s parent leadership group, such as the PTA or PTO. Your participation supports your principal’s vision and helps strengthen the home-school connection that drives student success.
3. Stay Informed
Engaged families make strong school communities. Be sure to stay connected through ParentVUE and school newsletters so you’re always in the loop on events, updates, and opportunities to support your principal and staff.
4. Volunteer Your Time
From reading with students to helping at school events, volunteers (https://www.pgcps.org/offices/ograc/volunteer) make a big impact. Ask your principal or school office about opportunities to lend a hand.
5. Say Thank You (literally)!
A handwritten note, email, or small act of kindness goes a long way. Principals do a lot behind the scenes — hearing “thank you” makes all the difference.
