What do you want your school to look like 10, 20 or even 30 years from now?
Prince George's County Public Schools is developing a new 10-year Educational Facilities Master Plan (EFMP) to guide how we plan, modernize and invest in our schools and facilities. And before those plans take shape, we want to hear from you.
Beginning October 19, PGCPS will host a series of community-wide EFMP Listening Tour sessions across all nine Board of Education districts. These sessions are an opportunity for families, staff, students and community members to share what matters most in the schools that serve their communities.
What do our schools need to better support teaching and learning? What makes a school feel safe, welcoming and inspiring? Where should we focus our investments for the future?
Your experiences and ideas will help complete the picture alongside data on enrollment, population shifts, building conditions and other factors that will inform the EFMP.
The Listening Tour begins October 19 and continues through December 9, with a session in each Board of Education district:
October 19 — District 5: Bowie High School
October 21 — District 4: Bladensburg High School
October 26 — District 3: Northwestern High School
November 5 — District 9: Gwynn Park High School
November 12 — District 1: Laurel High School
November 18 — District 8: Crossland High School
December 3 — District 2: Eleanor Roosevelt High School
December 8 — District 7: Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School
December 9 — District 6: Central High School
Registration is required. Find the full schedule, locations and registration information at bit.ly/EFMP-Tour.
The EFMP will ultimately provide a long-term vision for the future of PGCPS facilities, with Board of Education approval anticipated in 2028. But that future starts with listening.
These are your schools. We want to hear your vision for them.
Planning together. Building the future!
