Greenbelt Middle School Performance Plan

Introduction

In alignment with the goals and priorities of Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), the School Performance Plan (SPP) allows for a transparent and collaborative school improvement process with a focus on student achievement.

The School Performance Plan was developed this school year as the continuation of the detailed work and planning completed in the previous school year. The SPP focuses schools on engaging in disciplined inquiry cycles through the use of Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA). Through the successful utilization of PDSA, schools are able to impact student achievement and teacher practice by taking a scientific approach to school improvement.

Chronic Absenteeism is still an issue, especially with the grades levels that were not a part of last year's focus.

Leadership will implement a new monitoring protocol to learn more about what is happening in CoT classes and improve practices of CoTs. We will continue with last year's change idea but with a new focus group. Last year's focus was 7th graders who could be removed from the chronic absenteeism list. This year's focus will be returning students who were on last year's chronic absenteeism list.

Hispanic or Latino of any race:Multilingual Learners:Students with Disabilities **Small Group, Explicit Instruction**
In order to focus on explicit instruction in small groups, we must first calibrate a uniform understanding of the expectations around co-teaching models at Greenbelt MS. Once we've done that, we will identify and address areas where improvement is needed to work towards an end goal of all coteaching classes having explicit instruction taking place in small groups effectively.
Explicit instruction taking place in small groups mirroring the content of what whole groups are receiving from GenEd teachers. This will be evident based on classroom observations and planning documentation.
