Effective grant management ensures that funds are used appropriately, activities are implemented as approved, and required documentation is maintained in accordance with grantor requirements and applicable regulations. Through ongoing monitoring and oversight, the Grant Team helps the system build capacity while ensuring compliance across post-award implementation, reporting, and grant closeout. The Grant staff supports PGCPS program staff by providing technical assistance, professional development, and strategic guidance on managing State, Federal, and Cooperative Grant Agreements effectively.

Grants Management Technical Support Includes:

Grant Implementation Training: Reviews the Notice of Grant Award (NOGA), discuss budget and spending, discuss the timeline for implementing and closeout of project activities, and reviews reporting requirements and the internal approval and signature process.
Grant Report Review: Supports the submission of grant reports by ensuring the actives in the report aligns to the activities listed in the approved grant application
Best Practice Training: Ensures grant staff are carrying out approved activities, meeting deadlines, maintaining documentation, and are on track to spending 100% of the grant by the end of the performance period.

Grants Management Toolkit: Highlights internal processes and procedures for enhanced management of PGCPS-awarded grants through a user-friendly grants management guide.

Through grant monitoring and oversight, SPGD helps the system build capacity and ensure program compliance through post-award implementation orientation meetings, compliance workshops, project monitoring (i.e., on-site, phone/email, and desk review), required reporting, and grant close-out).

Further, Grants Management technical support provides guidance and information to program staff in effectively managing State and Federal grants, Foundation Awards, and Cooperative and Contractual Agreements.
