
Sydney J. Mosley, affectionately known as Syd, is a rising senior in the Class of 2027, student leader, advocate, musician, and aspiring journalist. Originally from New York City, he relocated to Bowie, Maryland, where he quickly became involved in leadership and service throughout his school and community.
Syd is honored to serve as the 46th Student Member of the Board for Prince George’s County Public Schools. He has been actively engaged in student government, volunteer service, the City of Bowie Teen Mentorship Program, and the Bowie Bulldogs Marching Band, where he is a dedicated member of the drumline.
A passionate learner since the age of three, Syd has completed sports journalism and broadcasting internships with SASN and DMV Hoops and was selected to participate in the 2026 Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation Mentoring Program for Young Men. He is also a talented musician who plays both the drums and keyboard and enjoys traveling and exploring new experiences.
Driven by a passion for politics, advocacy, leadership, and opportunity, Syd is committed to making a positive impact and using his voice to amplify the voices of others. He credits God, his family, and his village for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
