Prince George's County Board of Education Seeks Applicants for Ethics Advisory Panel

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — The Prince George's County Board of Education is currently accepting applications for its Ethics Advisory Panel, an independent body that advises the Board on matters related to its ethics policy.

The panel, established under Board Policy 0107, plays a key role in interpreting the Board's ethics guidelines, issuing advisory opinions, and reviewing complaints alleging ethics violations. Members are appointed by the Board Chair and confirmed by the full Board for a three-year term.

The Board is seeking individuals with a strong background in evaluating ethical, administrative, or legal issues. Interested candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must not be a current member of the Board of Education or an employee of Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS)
  • Must not be an elected official or candidate for elective office
  • Must not be employed by a business that contracts with PGCPS

All recommended applicants are subject to fingerprinting and a criminal background check before final appointment.
