Prince George’s County Public Schools is completing a phased renovation of the existing DuVal High School stadium and athletic facilities to improve functionality, safety, accessibility, and the overall athletic experience.
The project includes replacing the existing natural grass stadium field with a new synthetic turf field, reconstructing the regulation-size track and field event areas, and installing new bleachers, a press box, scoreboards, sports and egress lighting, fencing, and accessible pathways throughout the stadium.
Additional improvements include a new ticket booth and storage building, upgraded baseball and softball backstops and batting tunnels, improved field drainage and stormwater management systems, and new electrical infrastructure to support stadium lighting, scoreboards, the press box, and field operations.
When complete, the renovated athletic complex will provide modern, durable facilities that support football, soccer, flag football, lacrosse, track and field, baseball, and softball while enhancing accessibility, safety, and the spectator experience for students, staff, and the community.

The new athletic field design is being developed with community feedback, technical planning, and architectural expertise.
