Project Scope
The construction of a new K-8 school at the current site of Gwynn Park Middle School. The new Brandywine K-8 School will be a 3-story educational building with an estimated total area of 197,976 SF.
Blueprint Phase II Design
The architects for Phase II have developed two designs, or prototype schemes, for the eight schools within this phase. Similar to Phase I, developing prototypes allows the Program to expedite the design and construction processes, ultimately reducing costs and allowing school communities faster access to modernized state-of-the-art facilities. The designs still allow for schools to develop their own unique culture and celebrate their school identities. The below presentation was developed by the architect, Perkins Eastman, to explain how and why certain layouts, features, and functions were selected.
