The new Cherokee Lane Elementary School was built using a hybrid construction method that combined traditional on-site work with off-site modular construction, allowing most of the building to be assembled in a factory and delivered to the site for faster completion. The 95,827-square-foot school serves 846 students and features a two-story design that groups classrooms into grade-level “houses” with shared support spaces. The project included a new gymnasium, cafeteria, and kitchen built on-site, while classrooms and administrative spaces were constructed off-site. The building incorporates large windows for natural light, colorful interior finishes, and energy-efficient systems to meet LEED Silver sustainability standards. Site improvements included shared parking, reconfigured traffic flow, and new athletic fields to support student and community use.
