Description:
This course covers the 8th Grade Maryland College and Career Mathematics Standards with extensions to High School conceptual categories that fully cover linear functions and equations. The standards focus on developing an understanding irrational numbers; reasoning and solving linear equations and systems of linear equations, connect ratio and proportional reasoning to lines and linear functions; define, evaluate, compare, and model with functions; analyzing geometrical figures, and extend understanding of statistics and probability. The Standards for Mathematical Practice are woven throughout the course. Newly enrolled students to PGCPS must take a TAP Placement test to be considered for mathematics acceleration.
