World Percussion is a performance based class that emphasizes the study of a variety of cultures and percussion instruments from around the world as well as classical percussion instruments. Students will also learn music notation, rhythmic and melodic sight reading, and the basics of music theory from a percussion framework. As a performance based class students will participate in public performances ranging from solo and ensemble festivals, private competitions, and concerts.
