Description:
Computer Science Discoveries is a highly interactive and collaborative introductory course that is designed to empower students to create authentic artifacts and engage with computer science as a medium for creativity, communication, problem solving, and fun. In this semester course, students will use a problem-solving process to address a series of puzzles, challenges, and real-world scenarios. They will learn how computers input, output, store, and process information to help humans solve problems. Students will also learn how to create and share the content on their own web pages, and they will practice valuable programming skills such as debugging and commenting. In the final unit, students will build on their coding experience as they program animations, interactive art, and games in Game Lab. This course satisfies the MSDE Computational Thinking/Learning requirement.
