This course combines Cisco’s Introduction to Cybersecurity and Cybersecurity Essentials courses where students start by exploring the broad topic of cybersecurity in a way that matters to them. They learn how to protect their personal data and privacy online and in social media, and learn why more and more IT jobs require cybersecurity awareness and understanding. From there, they develop foundational understanding of cybersecurity and how it relates to information and network security. Students are introduced to the characteristics of cyber crime, security principles, technologies, and procedures to defend networks. Through interactive, multimedia content, lab activities, and multi-industry case studies, students build technical and professional skills to pursue careers in cybersecurity. Learn what cybersecurity is and what it means for you personally and professionally. Learn how to be safe online by understanding the most common threats, attacks and vulnerabilities.
