Description:
This course will emphasize introductory development of technique, tone, control, interpretation, and comprehension of musical symbols, terminology, and concepts. It is designed for those students who have previous instruction or are interested in beginning a band instrument. Students will perform beginning level literature, and attendance at outside of school performances and rehearsals is a requirement of the course. Due to fundamental differences in pedagogy and curriculum, this class is not open to string students playing violin, viola, cello, or bass (see Orchestra classes).
