Students are provided access to instruction that promotes mathematical processes/thinking, as detailed in the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice as well as content standards for numeration, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data are taught as appropriate for the grade level. Skills and concepts will include but are not limited to developing an understanding of basic 58 Prince George’s County Public Schools • Fall 2017 DRAFT multiplication and division, fractions and unit fractions and related division facts, understanding the structure of rectangular arrays and describing properties of two-dimensional shapes. This course is designed to facilitate alternate academic learning outcomes appropriate to the instructional needs of the student, as documented in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This course is linked to the general education curriculum; however, the student will require a different scope and sequence, adapted and modified materials.
