As we prepare for the 2026-27 school year, Prince George’s County Public Schools will extend the student instructional day by five (5) minutes at all schools.
The additional five minutes will be added to the end of the school day and will help ensure the district remains in compliance with Maryland instructional-hour requirements while providing greater flexibility to manage weather-related delays and early dismissals throughout the year.
What families should know:
This small adjustment helps ensure we can continue to operate safely and effectively while minimizing disruptions to learning during the winter months and other unforeseen events.
