Four Charles Herbert Flowers High School seniors (James Egbuanran, Kingsley Nwogu, Halmed Kamara, and Keven Amaya Muñoz) were named Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship recipients, earning $40,000 over four years toward computer science or engineering studies along with a paid Amazon internship! Flowers led the Maryland–Virginia–D.C. region with the highest number of recipients from a single school. Selected from a competitive national pool, students were recognized for academic excellence, leadership, and community impact.

The State of Maryland and Maryland 529 are helping make college, trade, or technical school more affordable through the Save4College State Contribution Program. Since its launch, more than 75,000 applicants have received $250–$500 in State contributions.
