The new Office of the Ombudsman will serve as a neutral resource for conflict resolution, with a dedicated staff member focused on Special Education issues. Families should understand the steps for resolution that must happen before engaging the Ombudsman.

FY27 Budget Update

The Prince George’s County Board of Education approved a $3 billion FY27 budget request for the period July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027,  focused on stabilizing the workforce and accelerating student outcomes amid the largest single-year reduction in district history.

TAG Center Lottery Deadline Extended

The Talented and Gifted (TAG) Center Specialty Program lottery deadline has been extended to March 20. Families interested in full-day TAG placement for 2025–26 are encouraged to apply. Note: Only students meeting PGCPS TAG identification criteria and coded in Synergy are eligible.
