On Tuesday, June 2, the curtain comes down on our 2026 commencement season with ceremonies for Friendly High School and Eleanor Roosevelt High School — two final moments in a stretch filled with pride, applause, and hard-won celebration.

Families can explore graduation season highlights, including a landmark new partnership with Bowie State University, and view graduation dates for all ceremonies.

Every ceremony is livestreamed, so family and friends near and far can take part in the joy in real time.

PGCPS Appoints Superintendent's Naming Commission

PGCPS has appointed a five-member Superintendent’s Naming Commission to help ensure school names, facilities, and monuments reflect the county’s values, diversity, and history.

Spots Available: Parks & Recreation Child Care Programs

Space is still available for the 2025-2026 school year in M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation Kids’ Care and Kids’ Club programs, which provide a safe, nurturing environment where students can enjoy a mix of educational and play activities after school.

Child Care Programs

When Learning Meets Play: Nurturing a Future of Live More, Play More

M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George's County sporisors several programs to meet the child care needs of parents. These programs provide your child with a variety of educational and play activities, and are licensed by and operate under the guidelines of the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care. These programs are held at locations throughout Prince George's County and are designed to provide quality care in a safe, nurturing environment with qualified staff.

All Child Care Programs Provide:

Safe, healthy, and comfortable environments

Caring supervision and guidance by qualified staff

Opportunities for recreational and social growth through various activities

A consistent group of playmates

Additional Information:

The M-NCPPC fee assistance program is available to Prince George's County residents based on income.

Maryland law mandates complete health forms for children in child care programs, with some requiring physician signatures.

Therapeutic Recreation Kids' Care After-School and Leisure and Life Skills for Teens

Registration begins June 11 for the 2025-2026 school year.
