This is complex professional and/or limited supervisory work involving the design, maintenance review and analysis of financial records and controls. Employees in this class perform complex professional accounting operations applying principles and methods in accordance with established accounting regulations and procedures. Work in this class is distinguished from Accountant I by a broader scope of duties, independence of action expected and the solution to more difficult accounting problems. General supervision is received but independent judgment and initiative is required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or a related field required, with a minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible professional experience as an accountant preferably in a government agency and ideally in a school system working with restricted programs.
