Position Summary:
The Administrative Testing Control Clerk reports directly to the Supervisor of Internal Assessments. The incumbent of this position learns, practices, and performs clerical and material handling work necessary to support the administration of all national, state and county tests in Prince George’s County Public Schools. Duties also include the collection and dissemination of reports/materials related to test administration and student performance as required by local, state, and federal authorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists testing specialists in the logistics of administering state and county-mandated assessments;
- Maintains inventory of testing booklets, answer sheets, and ancillary testing materials;
- Assists in the production and distribution of testing materials for each of the system wide tests scheduled on the testing calendar;
- Coordinates the return of test materials from the schools;
- Acts as the liaison with the school system warehouse/mailroom in the handling of testing office materials in and out of the warehouse;
- Collects and maintains accurate records relating to the receipt and return of testing materials;
- Communicates with and responds to requests from schools for information and/or materials;
- Answers phones and transfers calls within the office and takes messages as required;
- Updates and maintains computer files to provide information to school-based and office-based personnel in Prince George's County Public Schools regarding distribution and collection of materials;
- Prepares documents and test books for scanning;
- Packs, lifts, and transports boxes/envelopes of test materials up to 60 lbs. each;
- Assists as a scanner operator if necessary;
- Provides quality customer service to Prince George’s County Public School staff, parents, and the general public via phone, e-mail, or in person;
- Attends all training meetings in order to understand testing protocols for each test administration; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates competency using MS Software and Windows operating system;
- Experience in organizing and maintaining files and materials;
- Experience in materials handling;
- Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative in carrying out program duties and responsibilities;
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with school system staff including test coordinators;
- Good attention to detail and follow through with procedures to ensure high level of accuracy in all work assignments;
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with strict schedules and very high standards of precision, diligence and accuracy; and
- Ability to work and communicate with staff and school personnel, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
High
school diploma supplemented by either additional education or appropriate
experience in data entry, storage, and retrieval.
Certification:
None required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
