Under the direction of the Assistant Supervisor, the Automotive Information Technology Coordinator is responsible for managing the mobile electronics technology infrastructure thereby using the full potential of equipment and associated software, increasing the safety and security for pupils and associates operating within a pupil transportation and support services fleet environment. This position is mobile requiring the use of a service vehicle to travel between transportation and support services facilities throughout the school district. The employee in this class is responsible for managing the technology infrastructure, which includes various vehicle information systems utilized in the school system fleet.

High school diploma required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the automotive information technology field, including experience installing integrated electronic systems in all types of vehicles; managing service employees, suppliers and subcontractors; and directing mobile electronics installation utilizing a staged process; some experience as a journeyman automotive information technology technician including some experience in an administrative, supervisory or management capacity.
Possession of an appropriate and valid Maryland Motor Vehicle License with a driving record indicating five (5) or fewer current points of which no more than three (3) shall have been accumulated as a result of traffic violations occurring while operating a Board of Education vehicle. Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class "B" with endorsements "P" (Passenger) and "S" (School Bus) required or the ability to obtain within the probationary period for new employees or within 6 months of obtaining the position for current PGCPS employees; CDL Class "A" with "P" (Passenger) and "S" (School Bus and Air Brake) preferred. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications are strongly encouraged.
Supervises the work of Central Garage Services personnel grades 10 through 19 as assigned.
